 Junior Achievement of Oklahoma, Inc.

2 Non-Paid Internships available

Hours:

Monday – Friday

8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Hours available are dependant upon the students schedule

12 to 30 hours weekly. Must establish set schedule

3 to 5 days per week

Training                      Orientation and training provided

Length of Internship  Minimum of at least 2 months commitment

Skills needed:             

  • Strong computer skills (internet, word, excel, outlook)
  • Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written
  • Business and business casual attire and demeanor
  • Ability to use office machinery including fax machines, telephone systems, etc.

Special Event Intern

Duties could include portions of the following, based on the time of year. 

Investor Challenge – High School Student Event

  • Work with special event manager to secure local businesses interesting in sponsoring and serving as mentors
  • Develop strong campaign to gain awareness for the event.
  • Target rural businesses to support participation from the students in their community  
  • Assist special event manager in planning logistics of this 2 day event including 800 high school students

Business Excellence Dinner

  • Develop and refine target participant list
  • Implementation of silent auction to run in conjunction with the event.  
  • Work with special event manager to secure sponsors for the 20th annual Business Excellence Dinner (typical attendance is 350 business leaders)

JA BizWalk

  • Network within community to gain interest among business community for this event
  • Solicit sponsors for the event
  • Work with participants to setup online fundraising pages
  • Promote event with specifically with downtown Tulsa businesses.  
  • Assist special event manager in planning logistics of this fundraising walk.  

JA Bowl-A-Thon

  • Implement JA Bowl-a-thon with are TYPRO’s group
  • Solicit prizes and sponsorships for the event
  • Assist staff in developing plan for this new event
  • Create media awareness for event
  • Assist staff in planning logistics and serve as liaison between Tulsa and OKC staff.

Development /Grant Intern

Grants

  • Research opportunities
  • Prepare background information and statistics
  • Complete grant application to newly targeted foundations.
  • Maintain Grant calendar and schedule for Statewide operation

Corporate Campaign

  • Research new companies
  • Develop materials for 2009-2010
  • Analyze giving of current companies
  • Coordinate Intro luncheons
